Teachers: Would your parents describe your report card comments as meaningFUL or meaningLESS?
As an educator, I cringe when I see the words “Your child is a pleasure to have in class” written on a student’s report card. What do the words even mean!? How many other students received the same comments? How can those words possibly help the parents support the teacher’s efforts at school? How do they challenge the student to reach past their potential?

On Wednesday, March 14th at 9PM EST/6PST, parents and teachers on our weekly #PTchat (Parent-Teacher Chat) will discuss comments that are individualized and meaningful for parents and future teachers at the school to provide the most support for the student.
What about the next school the child attends? Good schools want to know everything about their new students so they can provide appropriate resources and put the student in a position for immediate success. With limited reporting times, report card comments should be so meaningful that they can be referred back to later by parents, teachers and students.
